The band had a country feel to many of their songs, but paid equal respect to the classic Stax-styled soul recordings of the '60s and early '70s. I love this concert! Saw Wet Willie in 1977 in Charleston, WV! Jimmy Hall still sounds great - see him around Nashville and he is Hank Jr's band leader. Keep On Smilin' - Jimmy told me he wrote it in about 20 minutes and is one of my all time favorite songs! Doak

I saw Wet Willie back in '71 when the opened for the Allman Bros. Not too shabby for an opening act. Later saw Marshall Tucker open for the Allman Bros. Another incredible concert!

Wet Willie, Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker Band in that order; after Wet Willie the other two worked awful hard to match up, but Jimmy had already stole the evening. One of Americas great performers, going to see him at Tips' this Easter in the crescent city. Tommy Talton Band is backing him. Still time to get tickets...
