Poster Art Q & A

Description

Jack Healy of Amnesty International sought out Bill Graham to produce a tour to focus attention on their efforts world-wide over the last 25 years. Graham told Healy what he told anyone who approached him with a worthy cause:"... get me the talent and I'll do the rest." Director John Huston's description of Amnesty, "... a conspiracy of hope," became the theme, and venues were lined up across the country. Several of the performers signed on for only one or two venues, this program was from the California venues which featured Jackson Browne, but most were on board for the entire tour.

Much like theatrical playbills, programs have been used at concerts since the 1900s. With information on bands and their members, it gives the concertgoer a chance to get to know the musicians they have paid money to see. The Vault's exceptional collection of programs range over four decades from venues around the world.
