Concert Summary

In his 40-plus-year career in the music industry, success has always seemed to attach itself to Steve Winwood. From the time he played organ and sang lead, at age 15, on such hits as "Gimme Some Lovin'" and "I'm A Man" for the Spencer Davis Group in 1965; up through four different incarnations of Traffic; to a now-classic LP made with Winwood/Clapton/Baker/Gretch supergroup of Blind Faith in 1969; and finally on a long string of successful platinum…entire summary

I cried SO hard cause my Mom wouldn't let me go to this. I think she thought I'd run off with the band.

mateokow August 6th | 5:48 pm I could not go to any of these shows as I was too young and living abroad. However my big brothers lived in the Bay Area and kept me up to date on music. I started collecting Lp's to make up for the concerts I could only imagine and not attend. I had all the Traffic, Capaldi, Mason, and Winwood albums that I could find and afford. 1971 to 1974 was my favorite period for Traffic. Great site!

I wasn't even born yet (07/10/73) when this concert took place, but i did get a chance to see them in 1992 or 1993(?) They were opening for the DEAD and the had a night off, so they played at Star Lake Ampitheater in Burgettstown, PA outside of Pittsburgh. This show was one of my top ten of all time considering I have seen 400 concerts. I clearly remember Rainmaker and Low spark. I also remember when we were leaving the venue, my friend noticed his license plates were missing from his car and we spent an additional 2 hours looking for them all over the parking lot. GOOD TIMES!!!

I think it's really, really great to find the concerts here at Wolfgang's. I haven't heard Traffic for ages since my recordplayer collapsed. This concert is fantastic, i wish i could have gone to the concert then and there, but I was too young, too poor and too far away (in Europe). Traffic is still modern, funky and cool. Thank you Wolfgang, thank you ever so much!
