Concert Summary

Started as a heavy rock 'n' roll band by bassist Phil Lynott, Thin Lizzy was among the first Irish rock 'n' roll bands to really have a presence outside of the U.K. They had a number of European breakthrough hits, and one massive global album (Jailbreak) which cemented their success in the U.S., but they never made the crossover to "legendary" status as their contemporaries Deep Purple and …entire summary

awesome!!! abit dissapointed there's no "southbound" or "johnny the fox meets..." but apart from that it's definitely a replacement for Live and Dangerous.. "still in love with you" sounds great, some one told me as this is obviously the version from L&D it proves it wasn't that overdubbed but to me you can tell although the same notes are being played this sounds more live how as the L&D version sounds like it's been replayed in the studio.. either way i'll be playing this one from now on!!! thanks to Wolfgang for making this available and ofcause to Thin Lizzy for the killer sounds... RIP phill.. you left us too soon

I grew up with Thin Lizzy in Dublin, Ireland in the early 1970's. They used to play in what was called The Stadium - a boxing stadium used for concerts. ( it still exists ). 1300 people packed in! When you walked in and up the steps into the hall, the blast of weed hit you in the face!! Take your seat, lights down and the band took the stage. Lynott had amazing stage presence! A tall lanky figure with the big mop of black curly hair, reflecting the lights from his bass out into the audience picking out some good lookin' chick!!! He stood there, his chin like a tap ( or faucet as you say in the USA ), dripping sweat continuously on the floor. Scott Gorham with the longest haire we'd ever seen....it was just fantastic. Lynott, Bruce S and Robert Plant had/have that something special on stage for me. What a shame Lynott departed so young..Lizzy will always have a place in the Irish rocker's heart!! Eamo
