Poster Art Q & A

Description

In 1973 The Who opened up their Quadrophenia tour at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. After taking the stage late, Keith played for just over an hour before passing out onto his drums during the song "Won't Get Fooled Again". The band takes a short hiatus and reemerges intact. They try again, but this time Keith Moon slumps onto his drum kit during "Magic Bus", clearly too incapacitated to perform. Pete Townshend asks the audience for a capable drummer, and one 19-year old boy from Muscatine, Iowa named Scott Halpin emerges from the crowd, takes the reins, and plays the final 3 songs of the show with The Who. He stayed in touch with the band over the years attended their reunions in New York City until his recent death. To date, Scott remains the central figure in one of rock and roll's most endearing stories.

Before production printing of posters can commence, printers' proofs are made and used to consider minor adjustments or alterations in the work before the production run is approved. Wolfgang's Vault contains a unique collection of original printers' proofs, untrimmed and with registration marks included, printed on fine quality proof stock.
