Concert Summary

During the summer of 1970, Bill Graham presented an extraordinary series of concerts at Tanglewood, the renowned classical music venue located in the scenic Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts. To many, hearing the Fillmore and Tanglewood in the same sentence equated to "when worlds collide." Much like his approach at the Fillmores, Graham's "The Fillmore at Tanglewood" series presented diverse, handpicked triple bills, but with the added advantage of a beautiful open-air venue and…entire summary

I CAN STILL SMELL THE AIR OF THAT NIGHT, IT WAS MAGIC, I'VE BEEN TO A HUNDRED CONCERTS, THIS ONE STANDS OUT AS THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN..THE WHO AT THEIR VERY BEST...I WAS 20 FEET FROM STAGE RIGHT IN FRONT OF PETE,...WOULD LOVE TO SEE A VIDEO OF THE WHOLE CONCERT IF ONE EXISTED...

I love the the "Tommy" set but one song from that album was not perfromed, to my dismay. I'm not exactly sure the the name but it went something like this, " come to this house be one of the beautiful people; there's more at the door, there's more at the door, THERE"S MORE!!!!!!! We'll need more room will build an externsion." Why did'nt they play one?? cryin' shame!

Everybody seems to remember what a crazy f*&% Keith Moon was, but when he was onstage, he was probably the best rock drummer going. He was very technically sound as well as being, well, a crazy f***! Best rock band in the world from 1968 through the early to mid 70's. Sorry I only got to see them once with the original line-up. I though Kenny Jones was always unfairly criticised for his drumming skills, There weren't a bunch of guys out to prove that they could keep up with the ghost of Keith...... What a show! What a band!

This recording brings back the memories when the Who were the best touring band out there! The clarity of this Classic Show makes this a must have, please make available for Download as I must add this to my collection. Tanglewood along with the Music Inn in Lenox Ma. were the best outdoor venues to see Live music back in the day!
