Concert Summary

What is featured on this recording is about half of what the Stones played that night in Memphis. Classics like "All Down The Line," "Brown Sugar," "Love In Vain," and Chuck Berry's "Sweet Little Sixteen" were cut to allow the show to fit the time restrictions of the King Biscuit Flower Hour radio broadcast. In the meantime, this is what we have to groove on, and it ain't bad. Opening with a raunchy and gritty version of "Let It Rock," the Stones prove at this show (and on this entire tour) why they remain among the most important…entire summary

The Stones have endured, finding great replacement musicians. I started listening to them in 1966. Seen them 3 times, two with Mick Taylor and once with Ron wood. Any way you cut it they're great.

The Stones most underrated tour. They had a kick ass album that reached #1. They played and sounded Awesome! They were on Tour, thinking this could really be their last tour with Keef in trouble up in Canada. They ended up performing really well in most venues. 1978 was their comeback year. cheers TyT

Originally, this show was broadcast with Hounddog & Sweet little 16, and probably the best version of Just My Imagination, the Stones ever played !!! From 1969 thru 1989 the Stones released a "live" album from every tour, except this one (1978). Look for boots from the Capitol Theater show, Passiac N.J. (start of tour), excellent quality, from soundboard, they even played Faraway Eyes!! The Dallas show(s) soundcheck video & audio are very good as well.......

INCOMPLETE CONCERT. What happened to "Sweet Little Sixteen," "Hound Dog," etc. etc.
The Stones wrote some great music (between 1968 and 1972 in particular); however, they are usually at their best when covering excellent tunes by artists they greatly admire.

If and/or when I meet Mr. Richards or Mr. Jagger I wouldn't hesitate to give them that opinion. On the other hand, "Tumblin' Dice" may very well be the best "single" song of the entire "rock era."
