Poster Art Q & A

Description

Punk-Funk Rockers with a reputation for raw [as in basically-in-the-buff] live performances, Red Hot Chili Peppers performed at the Fillmore on April 7, 1989 sans original guitarist, recent heroin casualty Hillel Slovak. Support act Thelonious Monster , the L.A. "drunk-rock" group with all-star talent and a penchant for the unpredictable, was at the time enjoying informal studio help from Flea [Chili Peppers original member Michael Balzary]. The artwork of Spanish-born and Texas-influenced Frank Kozik backlights a hot red chili with electric yellow flashes, calling to mind the contemporaneous art of Keith Haring.

Wolfgang's Vault owns one of the world's largest collections of original concert posters, featuring hundreds of rock posters, political posters, sports posters, comedy posters and others that were previously unavailable to the general public. Virtually all of our concert posters are in mint condition, and many are signed by the headline performer or the graphic artist.
