Concert Summary

America's godfathers of punk, the Ramones, mounted the stage at the Oakland Auditorium in October of '79 for an hour-long set the year after releasing Road to Ruin, and two months after the release of Rock 'n' Roll High School, a film in which they starred. Throughout this year, as well, the band was in the studio with Phil Spector working on their January, 1980 release, End of the Century. I was at this show and it was great. I remember they showed Rock n roll high school (the movie) prior to the concert.

its been said about countless bands, that they can take you back to your youth, fair enough in a way. BUT, The Ramones ALWAYS ALWAYS make you feel 16ish as soon as THAT intro starts, 1234 and yer there, im 39 and saw them back in the 80s for the 1st time, aint been right since. Often emulated, NEVER matched. A true class act who defined their corner or the RnR pie as much as Elvis,The Beatles etc. Sadly missed but oh so fondly remembered, R.I.P. J,J&D and thank you

really enjoyed listening to this concert going back to when the ramones were in their prime. sad to think most of them will be dead in 30 years. just glad that i managed to see them a few times and witness greatness live. the sad thing is they only became appreciated after some of them passed. well thanks for making this available.

Great Show! One more correction, I'm afraid. The second song of medley 4 is entitled "Go Mental", not 'Don't Miss You' - granted, Joey's introduction is a little slurred! Once again, great show and here's more Ramones for the Concert Vault - no matter how complete!

WOW! I saw them for the first time in 1979 when I was 14 years old. This is exactly how I remember it. THANKS !!

Wow, I appreciate the fact that Bill Graham taped these shows at all and they exist for us to enjoy. Who cares if some songs are incomplete.
