About

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band astounds audiences and critics alike with their singularly modern take on the New Orleans brass band tradition. After 30 years and 11 studio albums, plus collaborations with artists ranging from Dizzy Gillespie to Elvis Costello and Dr. John to Modest Mouse, the Dirty Dozen continues to excite fans with electrifying concerts across the globe.

Still stretching the boundaries of the traditional New Orleans Brass Band sound by adding touches of funk, jazz, and bebop, the Dirty Dozen released their reinterpretation of Marvin Gayes classic, Whats Going On in 2006 to resounding critical acclaim.

Now the Dirty Dozen Brass Band has embarked on a non-traditional relationship with Wolfgang's Vault that gives the band the freedom to release archival releases from the bands vast live history. This continues with the release of two more concert performances in conjunction with their 2008 Heavy Metals Tour. Though they will always be at home in the myriad dingy jazz clubs of New Orleans, the Dirty Dozen continues to rock crowds around the world.
