What does Gregg say at beginning of the show, "great to be back in New York with the ____"? Did he say, Mets? Gregg is in fine vocal form here. I especially noticed and like his harmonizing on 'Blue Sky'; his voice sounds smooth and silky. A thing to know about Dickey Betts' guitar playing is that he gets in ruts sometimes with his leads and solos and seems to struggle a bit or hesitate, I think, because he has played the material so much and been playing with the same musicians so often. Paired with players he's not usually with, like here with Santana and Taylor, or with songs out of the ordinary for him, and his guitar work sizzles. I think he's very talented, versatile and flexible and can hold his own with anyone, as he proved during the years with Duane, one of the top-five rock guitarists of all time. I've seen or heard Betts with Eric Clapton, Johnny Winter, Elvin Bishop, Brian Setzer, to name a few, and his performances are respectable. I'm grateful for his music and that of the Allmans.

Nice set. I suggest putting Gregg's photo on this set, since Duane was no longer in the band.

This may have been big news back in the day but count me in as saying the Allman Bros didnt return to form until Warren haynes joined for Seven Turns-still this is a great show for posterity's sake.

Hey blaise0881, just so you know this was a reunion show at a concert called NYC crackdown . I was there in the first row. Marty Privette Johnny and matt were in Dickeys Band for a long time before pattern in 89. Johnny was also on stage for awile at this show, I think he's blowing Harp in one way out. I don't recall seeing Matt. santana and csn were also there that night along with run dmc and I think someone called rueban blades and something called Olatunji and his Drums of Passion. I think they may have did whipping post that night also, but its been 23 years. It was a great night in old New York

The Brothers in Concert Wake me up at any time even when I am six feet down. The current ABBand with Warren and Derek is at par with the original band with Duane and Dickey. They let my Soul Shine. Too bad the ABB are rarely to be seen in Europe. In Holland only twice...

wow-love the Bros....Saw them at the Garden in 75 at age 15 and loved it.Now Greg is touring solo at small clubs and Dickey Tours(saw him at a club in 2005)and he kicked Butt but...days are numbered. They may be the greatest American band ever along with the Doors and Steely dan.

Just caught this too...at the very end of Key to the Highway, one of the 5 guitarists starts to play a couple notes from Will the Circle Be Unbroken and a harp adds in too...we can only assume this is Paul Butterfield back onstage?

At one point Dickey announces Marty Privette was playing bass too. I don't know for what songs. He played in The Dickey Betts band on the 1989 Pattern Disruptive album with Warren Haynes, Johnny Neel, and Matt Abts.
