Concert Summary

Developing the soaring twin lead guitar attack that served as the foundation for much of Southern rock, the Allman Brothers Band was much more than the founding fathers of a musical genre. Far more progressive and diverse than the school of music they inspired, the group incorporated blues, soul, rock, jazz, and country elements into a heady brew all their own. With improvisatory skills that rivaled the greatest of jazz musicians, the Brothers quickly established a reputation for inspired jamming. Their live performances at Bill Graham's Fillmore East have deservedly become the stuff of…entire summary

WOW!! These vaults songs I happen to stumble upon the other day are just mind blowing. I stop by here often to just check out when will they start taking some of these recordings and make them available for download. So Right now I am just in awe! I noticed in the vault they were placing songs individually and picked out one of my favorite tunes( Mountain Jam ) dated 2/14/70. So I started thinking wow I don''t know if I ever heard this song on this date. People spread this around, The SLIDE work on part 2 or side B is just freaking unreal. It was like listening to a brand new ABB tune because it was so unique. 2/14/70, 2/14/70, 2/14/70. Slide work on Part2 or side B. Spread the word People.

There is definite urgency and excitement that rarely seems touched upon these days. Duane was certainly a master of building a solo.

It is a tragedy--a TRAGEDY--that there are two tape cuts in the epic rendition of "Mountain Jam" contained herein. This entire show is one for the ages, and the fact that sections are missing is untenable.

I jammed with the Fillmore E. recording of this one in the early 70's a LOT. Still love it. :-D

It is because of Duane that I am a guitar player for the past 40 years.

    The finest player EVER!
    Rest in Peace Duane!

I can (almost) remember that series of shows from the final Fillmore dates. Wish the memories were clearer but that 'clear light' gets in the way. *wink* NOT the best of ABB shows due to some mitigatings factors but can forgive my bros for trying.

Why is Hittin' The Notes" out of publication? What's the dirt on what I hear is a very good album.
