That position was filled by Robert Plant, and the New Yardbirds morphed into Led Zeppelin. Reid pursued a solo career in the late '60s and into the '70s, touring the U.S. and often playing at the Fillmore West where, in 1969, the 20-year-old Reid performed what later became a scene featured in the film Groupies.
