About

Terry Reid

Terry Reid is the British rock singer who, in 1968, turned down the gig of a lifetime: lead singer for the New Yardbirds. That position was filled by Robert Plant, and the New Yardbirds morphed into Led Zeppelin. Reid pursued a solo career in the late '60s and into the '70s, touring the U.S. and often playing at the Fillmore West where, in 1969, the 20-year-old Reid performed what later became a scene featured in the film Groupies. Reid also turned down an offer to join Deep Purple and never quite accomplished what he could have, considering his rockstar talents.
