Concert Summary

Extraordinary blues/rock guitarist Alvin Lee had already begun pursuing his solo career in earnest by the time he returned for the 28th and final U.S. tour of the original Ten Years After. Upon completion of the 1975 tour, TYA would split up and not return until a reunion was staged in 1989.

Although a cult fave, the band burst onto the world music scene after it appeared in the documentary film, Woodstock, one of whose highlights was the performance of "I'm Goin' Home" by Lee and the band. This show, recorded at Bill Graham's Winterland ballroom, opens with a rockin' (but…entire summary

The band that Leo Lyons is pawning of as Ten Years After is about as good as the Grand Funk Railroad that Don Brewer is trying to sell without Mark Farner. It just doesn't work.

When TYA played Roosevelt Stadium with Skynyrd and Rod Stewart as headliner they blew the doors of the place. Nobody except a few tards stayed to see Stewart. The place emptied out like someone farted.

Now, now Brett--you can stand up for your guy without putting down Jeff Beck.

Any RnR Hall of Fame without Ten Years After is weak! They've been putting in some shit bands, and they just found room for Jeff Beck a couple years ago? Get real!

One of the best live bands, ever! I, too, was at this show - fantastic! Long live Alvin Lee - this cat and this band belong in the Hall of Fame!

Was there, lived up the street at on Pierce St temporarily while wandering around the USA. It was a great summer and a great show. I still remembered Alvin Lee's guitar feedback by itself at the end - little else, ha ha.

Yes I was at this show and the one with Albert King at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. Fabulous shows. Winterland was a smaller venue and had the fantastic balcony that went completely around the place, even behind the stage, made ya feel really special. Cow Palace was too big. High energy band at their best. Now my kids love TYA as much as I ever did.
