Concert Summary

In their first San Francisco appearance, Styx lights up a hot set culled from their first A&M release, Equinox, and peppered by entries from their Wooden Nickel days.

Guitarist John Curulewski left the band after the release of Equinox at the tail-end of 1975, and was quickly replaced for promotional-touring duties by Tommy Shaw. Shaw's influence as a hit-maker would become apparent with the release of "Mademoiselle," a Top-40 hit that was his recorded vocal debut, and released in October of 1976 on the…entire summary

    I had a friend told me he would get me close enough to touch tommy shaw!!!!!!!from the noise bleed seats to the seats i had the night i got to touch tommy...love them then and love them now...what would a girl do with out friends......and always remember life is just a GRAND ILLUSION

    Another band that is sort of now written off as a joke but with a bunch of killer musicians...they dont make rock musicians like they used to...these guys could play circles around any "Rock Band" out now

    Def2251 says: On this particular show, the opening act was Wishbone Ash, then Styx and the headliner was Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Great show and it is great to hear this once again. Thanks. I was sure about BTO (who were fantastic!). I must have seen ELO on Valentine's day then. So, not the first concert with my wife. Oh well, still together anyway.

    Caught several of their tours in the 70s. Great White Hope tour was the best one in my opinion, then they went the "BABE" route. Still...all in all a great underrated band. Tommy Shaw and JY could tear it up.
