What a blast! I saw this short-lived band play an excellent set in Oxford (England) way back in the early 70s, bought the album (which I still have, somewhere), and never heard anymore about them (until today). Back in those Dylan-less years, the covers were very welcome too. Isn't it amazing how music lives on in those hidden recesses of your mind (which clearly was NOT totally destroyed)?

Missing "Ajax" by Deidre LaPorte...WOW...that was funky Blues...

Stoneground evolved into one of the "important" bands from the Bay Area. I remember seeing them a few times here in San Diego, always wishing I had the tape of the closing of the fillmore set. Wow after only 38 years here it is, as good as the day it was broadcast.

This is definitely one of the best bands to evolve from the bay area scene. Vibrant and vital was what Stoneground was. I saw them play here in San Diego, more than once, and still consider them important.

Yesterday on Mick Martin's Blue Party he played a half dozen Stoneground songs and I was just blown away-back to those days and nights at the Fillmore, Winterland and up in Nicasio. I also was reminded of KSAN's first Quadraphonic radio broadcast - two co-operating FM radio stations broadcast from a small studio and headlined by Van Morrison. I wish I could only remember more. Where those the times of our lives? Love RAF

was at their welcome home ( '70 or 71 ) party hosted by Tom Donahue at KSAN studios, it was " simulcast. " rainy night, what a blast, band rocked, everybody dancing like mad.

There is a God. From 1970 to 1973 these guys rocked. I first saw them at the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento as an opening act on a three band card. They are the only group that I've ever seen that got a double standing ovation after being billed third. The band was best in it's original lineup of ten players and the quality of the recording is great. Not bad for a band that was formed by Warner Brothers just to be in a movie about a group of bands traveling across America. Thank you Bill Graham for this show. Peace, Kevin

one of the greatest bands to grace the Bay Area and beyond! holy shit Sherlock....what's not to love about this company of talent and groove. I miss Lynne Hughes big time. I'll never forget a benefit @ Winterland for the Indian occupation of Alcatraz....a rainy San Franciscan night. They opened for New Riders and The Dead....roses were taped to the mikes and it was a party to remember. love, Bruce
