Concert Summary

This brilliant live performance by the Steve Miller Band (originally broadcast as a King Biscuit Flower Hour show) dates back to 1976, when Miller (with an all new band) took to the road to promote his now classic Fly Like an Eagle album. Over thirty years since this show was performed, the Steve Miller Band has…entire summary

Although I am partial to the original SMB lineup that released one of the greatest albums in rock history "Sailor" but proved to be so much more. The Steve Miller Band should have been inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, it's first year of eligibility. In the meantime, we admirers of this exceptional musician and his band have his recordings and this great live show to enjoy.

I've caught Steve Miller at a couple of different points through his career. I was surprised in the 1990s seeing him at Shoreline where his show was very jazzy and quite evolved from the early blues->pop sound. At the time I was filled with mixed feelings since I very much enjoyed the show but had also been hoping to relive my teenage years by hearing all the classics in their original style. Over time I've grown to just enjoy music in real time and not worry about what I had expected to hear. So I hope to catch Stevie Guitar Miller again real soon now! This particular show zooms me right back to my teenage years in a Mercury!

I've seen this guy from Steve Miller Blues Band days in SF and why he isn't in that R&R Hall of Fame is amazing to me.

This is so good...I sorta remember seeing Steve M, in Vancouver, many years ago - KISS was on the bill (!?!?) and to me, it was like the sublime and the ridiculous.

You kow which is which - or just listen and you will
