Nice for an early period show. SOund is excellent for a stream from the period.

Had pleasure to see trimmed out Steppenwolf '80's-90's. B3 and keyboard player eliminated need for bass guitar. Wife fell in love with John Kay, so went to any show within 50 miles. Great rock, especially America and Magic Carpet Ride. Even though JK is old enough to be my father 65 or so he still rocks. Long live rock.

My buddies and I heard/saw Steppenwolf a couple of weeks earlier than this show, at the Newport Pop Festival, Orange County Fairgrounds, Costa Mesa Ca. (A hugely under-rated late 60's, 2 day,"rock festival). A definite highlight of the weekend,as our garage band played the heck out Born to be Wild, and were big fans of the 1st album. Never could get enough of the Pusher. Iron Butterfly, Country Joe, the Dead, Quicksilver, the Byrds, Blue Cheer, the Airplane, Canned Heat, Charles Lloyd Quartet, Sonny & Cher, Butterfield Blues Band, James Cotton, the Chambers Brothers, even Tiny Tim and Gypsy Boots. Oh what glorious times and exuberant music in the sun. Never could see enough pictures or film of that event, considering it was greater LA, and seemingly tons of media was there.

Goldy McJohn of Steppenwolf, and Jimmy Greenspoon of Three Dog Night, were two of the best organ players of their day, and gave each of those bands a real "organ driven" sound. Greg Rollie and Al Kooper were no slouches either.
