Concert Summary

Fast on the heels of British Glam pioneers like David Bowie and T. Rex came these boot-stomping, pub-crashing maniacs: Slade, the Pride of Wolverhampton! While Messrs. Bowie and Bolan gave the impression of obsessively cultivating their respective glittery, space-age alter-egos, Slade took nothing seriously, creating ridiculously catchy, phonetically-titled shout-along anthems for football hooligans everywhere. Their image was every bit as outrageous as their sound, replete with…entire summary

By the time Slade got to America, they were tired, I think they were changing anyway, Nod's voice was different, and the U.S audience weren't ready for the thug rock way of thinking, it was causing controversy over the world, fist dancing and boot boys were strictly British, as well as the shouting. The later tours also reflect this, but then again, we wouldn't have punk if not for these bands.. And a real hard working band they were too! Pre glam Slade are awesome, check out the PLAY IT LOUD LP.. This one is recommended!! Hey.. play it loud! Have yourselves all a very cool day! Regards from wee mole!

Thank you for these concert recordings of Slade. I never got to go to their shows. I was listening on the weekend to the one from July 1976 at Dover, and now I just listened to this one.

My first concert! Steely Dan opened. Humble Pie headlined. I was 11 and I remember very well the Slade set and Noddy Holder's mirrored top hat. Great night of music.

Great to hear the black country back street kids going for it for the Americans. All niceties are removed for this performance. They really gave you guys a mighty slice of the Slade pie. Shame you didn't really get it, until the 80s but as the saying goes they were ahead of their time.
Long live The Mighty Slade !!!

Slade! WOW! THE most fun I had at a concert. LOUD! It was the last show on the tour and they had to use up all the confetti. Found that stuff all over the crib for months after.

Thank you Slade for all the great times in your live performances and all the great records you made.
You and T-Rex were the kings of this glam-rock era.
Your great songs will live forever.
