Emerging in 1969 from the remnants of the Blues Project, Seatrain's debut, self-titled album blended bluegrass, jazz, folk and classical into an instrumental masterpiece. On the scene with contemporaries like Chicago and Yes, Seatrain's unique roots-rock style pulled in fans, although not in colossal numbers. The band's lineup changed for their second album, also eponymously titled, and scored a hit with "13 Questions." In the following years, Seatrain endured more changes in members and fizzled out by '73.
