While I don’t miss crushes, I do miss the ritual of making and giving a mix tape. Mix CDs were around for a while as a half-hearted replacement, but really, with the emphasis on mp3s and the vast amount of immediate access to music, the mix CD was a rightfully short-lived phenomenon
