Results for The TubesThe Tubes formed in San Francisco in 1972 and originally consisted of Bill Spooner, Vince Welnick, Rick Anderson, Roger Steen Prairie Prince, Michael Cotten and Fee Waybill. The Tubes were a satire rock band who cunningly goofed on pop culture and donned suits and ties onstage. They saw most success in the '70s, scoring a cult following from their boisterous live shows and radio staple "White Punks on Dope." Like several bands who were hot in the '70s, the Tubes continue to tour with a change or two in their lineup, pleasing those who couldn't get enough of them in their yesteryears....more

He's been ill—coughing up blood, causing the cancellation of the two preceding gigs. He's still coughing profusely and draws on a bottle of prescribed cough medicine which the doctor provided along with the statutory shot. What was the matter, Bruce? Most of what I know about Burke's history comes from Guaralnick's interviews with him. But what I felt when I talked to Burke myself was something else entirely—perhaps best described as spiritual refreshment—and it's something that I will carry with me from here. He's a Philadelphia native who loves country music and a former "wonderboy preacher," with 21 children, 89 grandchildren
