The first time I listened to the Long Winters I thought of Counting Crows. Maybe that’s because Counting Crows’ song “A Long December” was floating around in my head, or maybe because the Long Winters’ singer John Roderick’s voice shares an accentless, quickly excitable quality with Adam Duritz’s. Or perhaps it was because both bands are absolute whores for instantly catchy anthems

But Chairlift is already enjoying its own modest successes and they may not be able to stay out of the limelight for long.
