Results for Rod Stewart

Rod Stewart must bask in the implied longevity, even eternal-ness, of the description most often applied to him; "a durable talent." In the music business, "durable" is high praise and in Stewart's case covers a career that includes the blues, ballads, ramshackle and glam rock, disco, the romantic and the risque, all performed in the same signature rasp since his first single in 1964. Stewart has brought audiences on both sides of the Atlantic to their feet as both band member, in the Jeff Beck Group and Small Faces (later known as Faces), and solo artist, and from his first big hit, "Maggie May" in '71, to his 21st album (not counting compilations). Human in 2000 has managed to be a bit of everything for everybody at each musical or cultural juncture in the last four decades without compromising his talent. Atlantic Crossing in 1975 saw Stewart recording for Warner Bros. and residing in the U.S., two changes to which he quickly adjusted as he wrote, interpreted and performed his way to the spotlight. In studio or on tour, Rod Stewart is as durable as diamonds and has just as many facets.“more

What kind of a fan am I today? In some ways I’m unchanged, and I still look for and sometimes find in the music exactly whatever it was I hungered after when I was 16 (proof that the world is a passionate place; a friend in the lonely night; release for my anger, confusion, idealism, desire fear and love).
