Results for Procol HarumThe British band Procol Harum was established in 1966 from a rhythm and blues band called the Paramounts. Their most significant composition was their 1967 hit "A Whiter Shade of Pale." This song uses an organ line derived from Bach's Suite No. 3 in D Major. As a result, the group became leaders of the classical rock movement, thereby helping to popularize the concept of rock as an art form. The name Procol Harum allegedly came from the name of a friend's cat; roughly translated from Latin, it means "beyond these things."“more
