Results for PentangleWhile their name is not as recognizable as some of their British counterparts, Pentangle was a credible and well known folk-rock band of the late 60's and early 70's. Formed around the virtuosic guitar skills of its two founders, Bert Jansch and John Renbourn, the group rarely used electric instruments and was influenced by a variety of styles, including jazz, blues, traditional folk songs, pop and oldies, melding their influences to create a unique repertoire. Their self-titled debut record was released in May 1968 and generated enough attention to ensure the success of their subsequent efforts, most notably 1968's "Sweet Child" and 1970's "Cruel Sister." Pentangle broke up in 1973 and the members continued to work in music, periodically reconvening to make new albums or play some shows. The current incarnation of Pentangle revolves around vocalist Jacqui McShee, and they generally tour around Easter....more
