    For me, though, Cale's problem is that he's too much a part of that esoteric little Island Records bunch that takes in the cast of the June 1, 1974 album—Ayers, Nico, Eno, and all the others in the foothills of Art. And also, that he's a little too aware of his legend (I, for one, am not sure of the relevance of knowing whether or not he beats up his wife).
