Results for John SebastianJohn Sebastian contributed to America’s folky rebuttal to the British Invasion, largely with his four-piece band the Lovin’ Spoonful. A singer-songwriter who played the harmonica, John Sebastian jumped on the New York folk revival train of the late 50’s and 60’s for which his musical Greenwich Village upbringing was conducive. By 1964, Sebastian had formed The Lovin’ Spoonful, and in 1965 their first hit, "Do You Believe in Magic" was released. This song became the first in a series of well-received songs and albums, including the number one hit "Daydream" and the soundtrack to Woody Allen’s film "What’s Up, Tiger Lily?" The Lovin’ Spoonful enjoyed their success for the next couple of years, but after several shaky incidences, including the arrest of two of the members on drug charges, Sebastian left in 1968 to develop his solo material, choosing not to accept the invitation into his friends’ trio which became Crosby, Stills and Nash. His memorable solo performance at Woodstock firmly established his single status, especially after he was featured on the soundtrack to the epic festival. The next several decades have found Sebastian involved and contributing to the music industry, as he's continued to record, perform and collaborate, and in 2000, The Lovin’ Spoonful was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame....more

Well, It’s a good thing I’m so much more concerned with summer festivals and R.E.M. than any of that crap, isn’t it?
