Results for Humble PieThis British hard-rock band was formed and fronted by the raspy-voiced Steve Marriott, who later hooked up with guitarist Peter Frampton. Humble Pie toured the U.S. for the first time in late 1969, and their album Rockin' the Fillmore, which was recorded live, went gold in 1971. Frampton left the group after this success, and his departure prompted the band to concentrate on boogie music. After reaching number six with their next album, Smokin', the group's fortunes declined and the band split up in 1975. In 1980, Marriott and drummer Jerry Shirley reformed with Bobby Trench (ex-vocalist for Jeff Beck Group) and bassist Anthony Jones, and they made a pair of albums for Atlantic. However, Humble Pie dissolved once again after a few American tours proved to be cursed, and sadly, Marriott's tragic death by fire in 1991 was the final chapter for the hard rocking British band.“more
