Results for Hall & Oates

Believe it- Hall and Oates and the #1 charting duo in rock and roll history. That's quite a feat for two soft-rock guys from Philly. Not only did they rock some of the coolest hair of the 1980's, they delivered blue-eyed soul tunes with the greatest of ease. Daryl Hall met John Oates at Temple University in 1967 and a relationship was born from their mutual affinity for R&B, doo wop, folk and soft rock. Upon writing and performing together, they caught the attention of Tommy Mottola, who signed them to Atlantic Records, under which they released their first number one single, "She's Gone." Moving to RCA in 1975 proved a wise decision, as they embarked on a winning streak beginning with the catchy single "Sara Smile." By the time 1984 rolled around, Hall and Oates had surpassed the Everly Brothers to become the most successful duo in history with 19 Gold and Platinum awards. After parting ways for a brief time to explore solo careers in the late 80s, they got back together and are still touring and recording to date.“more
