Ry Cooder is the most exciting yet tasteful guitarist of my lifetime. He can do everything well. And on top of that he's got a social conscience. God bless him forever!

One of the best shows I ever saw took place in about 1990 at French's Camp Cali. On the Eel River. Ry Cooder with David Lindley and Wow, did they ever get it on! I taped that show and I still have the tape somewhere. Their version of "Vigilante Man" seemed a lot more bluesy than the one here. Woody Guthrie wrote the song.
