Concert Summary

This show was recorded in Rush's homeland of Canada, just as the band was exploding worldwide. Although they had been superstars in North America, it was during this period that the band finally shed its Zeppelin sound-alike tag, and began getting recognized for the libertarian and sci-fi lyrics of drummer Neil Peart (inspired mostly by novelist Ayn Rand).

There are only three songs in this mini-set broadcast by the King Biscuit Flower Hour (from a show that lasted two hours and would be released as the Exit…Stage Left album), but there is enough to hear what the band was…entire summary

Michael...Being an older progressive rock fan (Genesis).. Rush as a trio... created such a great amount of sound with its intricate arrangements $ great musicianship... Neil Peart's Percussion & lyrical abtittude gave the group its musical fondation..Amazing that they have toured for over 30 years. Forza !! RUSH..

Seeing them in 1977 and in 2008 creates the perfect circle in seeing the full range of their talents. This version of La Villa exemplifies their musicianship!

just breaking out at this time, you got that wrong slightly, they had just done 7 straight sold out shows at hammersmith odeon and on this tour were playing places like wembley arena and selling out 3 shows in a row there, as well as the other big indoor arena's, the reason was they always came back, put on a great show and never failed to deliver live, they were probably the biggest non british band playing over here bar none, the so called superstars weren't doing that here at the time, rush were that massive, sold out arena's and top 5 albums from a band like theirs in our crappy charts, they must have been and still are great

Boring? Are you kidding me. They are the tightest live band ever!!

  • scrapmetal | Sunday, February 08, 2009 | 5:00 pm

what a crew of tremendous musicians but can be very boring live-definitely see them in an arena & not at an outdoor shed.
