Concert Summary

The late Rory Gallagher made some very cool records, but he could never capture the excitement and power that were almost always part of his live shows. Just take a listen to this recording made for the King Biscuit Flower Hour on his '74 US tour. Gallagher had a strong following on the west coast and this show in San Diego was well attended by a large, loyal audience.

Gallagher made a name for himself in 1969 with the band Taste, who recorded three albums before splitting in 1971. Gallagher recorded several solo albums…entire summary

    The Great Rory Gallagher!!!

Saw him at MSG in mid 80's opening for Rush. I might have been one of the only people in the Garden who gave a damn - their loss. Gotta admit, I don't remember much about Rush, but Rory was outstanding.

Saw most of the greats- Page, B.B, Beck, Stevie Ray,Clapton, Robin Trower, Buchanon, etc.. Unfortunately never saw the great Rory Gallagher. His depth of Rock, Blues, Irish folk was unparalleled. Most importantly I understand he was a beautiful man.R.I.P brother.

Just to clean up your info about Rory--he didn't just come out with "several solo albums," he released 11 solo studio albums and three great live albums, including the classic Irish Tour '74. And while he didn't make it as big as Clapton and Beck, Rory's following is alive and thriving and hugely dedicated, with a growing Facebook page that currently has more fans than Beck's.
