Rory Gallagher never attained the international recognition of Eric Clapton or Jeff Beck, but he was every bit as good a blues guitarist while in his prime. Gallagher was one of the early Irish exports of the late 60s and early 70s, and though his star was considerably brighter in the UK, he did see several good years as a touring act in the USA. I was very fortunate to see him several times in the bay area,Keystone Berekley was the first and he blew the crowds minds,it was silent at the end, people couldn't believe what they had witnessed.Best I ever saw.R.I.P. Rory. One of my best freinds named his only son Rory.

Saw Rory at my very first concert in the summer of 1975. Opened for Foghat in Pittsburgh. Rory was GREAT, Foghat got booed off the stage people were chanting Rory, Rory......changed my perspective on music.

Rory was a rare genius mixing traditional Irish melodies with blues - one of my all time guitar heroes.

The last song, credited as 'Roberta', is a Willie Dixon composition entitled 'I'm Ready'. The best known rendition is Muddy Waters 1954 version on Chess Records, Chess single 1579.

"bluesboy", Roy born in 1948 in Ballyshannon Co. Donegal and raised in Cork, NOT Belfast sorry 'bout the nit-picking, but there you go. Anyways he was one of the best.
