Rod Stewart's 1978 Blondes Have More Fun U.K. tour included multiple nights at the Olympia Theater in London. This show, the third of three at this venue recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour, is another great example of why the flamboyant rocker we all know as "Rod The Mod" is truly one of the most gifted performers still doing it today.

Stewart opens with the raucous "Hot Legs" and offers an amazing evening that includes hit ballads ("Tonight's The Night," "You're In My Heart," and Delaney & Bonnie's classic, "I Don't Want To Talk About It") against pop dance tracks such…entire summary

hear hear Roxy Fan. the importance and sheer drunken beauty and power of Rod and the Faces can not be underestimated. They created a singular world of which not many could replicate afterward. that kind of fierce gutsy abandon is pretty much unmatched. and this includes the venerable Stones, the forefathers of this kind of rock n roll. Rod/Ronnie/Ronnie/Ian/Kenny and wrote and performed some great once in a lifetime shit.

I don't remember the year, but it was somewhere around 1974-1976 that I saw Rod in Dallas Texas. I'll love him no matter how old he gets. Saw him in Houston just a few years ago and when he did the 70's songs, he still rocks!!

Totally agree. I saw him in Belgium a little after this period - never forget the Hot Legs opening, the soccer balls, the Sailing sing-a-long etc. His later output really makes him very underrated. His 70's stuff across the board is just a great body of work, on par with a Bowie or a Stevie Wonder, 2 other artists who certainly put together a great string of records during that decade and then never matched that consistent level. There are more examples - we all get older and run out of ideas and inspiration.

i went to the friday night show, the listing from duke above is correct, rod opened with kicking footballs into the crowd, great show as far as i can recall, was about the last time he was at his peak, the songwriting was showing signs of creaking by then...his 1st 4/5 solo albums are sublime and stand the test of time
