Concert Summary

This brilliant live recording by the late British singer Robert Palmer is a classic example of why his live shows were so captivating. A musical adventurer, Palmer could cohesively blend a wide swatch of styles ranging from rock, blues, reggae, world beat, soul/R&B, and heavy metal into a single live performance, never losing perspective along the way. Recorded at the sonically near-perfect Ritz Auditorium in New York City in 1983, this live show was originally aired on the King Biscuit Flower Hour.

Thank you very much for this wonderful experience! Minor track title correction: "Found You Now" (instead of "Follow You Now" ... It's from the album Clues).

i truly miss robert palmer now, he died at a early age of only 53/54, he died the same year of a never great singer, that was (johnny cash) but cash was getting on in his 70s, & suffered from parkinsons disease god bless, i saw robert play live on 2 occasions, 1st was at the (hammersmith odeon sept 1988) on the heavy nova tour, 2nd was at the (town & country club, kentish town 1991) on the don,t explain tour, which was the best time, because he blew the roof off the place, & it was a smaller & better venue, me & my friend were near the frount of the stage for that one, he,s last album (drive) was great, i do miss his work now, i first got into robert palmer when he did the brillant (riptide) album, with the hit single (addicted to love) back in 1985, god bless you robert ... a great singer truly missed: pete007: u.k.

Everybody dies sooner or later. I don't go for the sooner nonsense of the good ones, but who am I to judge.

This is a great show...and the period at which I liked Robert most. I always thought his voice sounded great on the Pride album. Not too long after this his career would skyrocket, and a certain video with a "model back up band" would be played constantly. Although I like material on subsequent albums, I much prefer Robert from Sneakin Sally thru Pride. His last album Drive is great. Thanks for posting this concert, Robert left us too soon.

Superb concert. What Can You Bring Me is especially awesome. He would've been 60 this year and undoubtedly still cool and still putting out great music. Deeply missed but never forgotten.

Hi, just discovered this show, so thanks for posting it. Am listening it at Volume 11, all the way through, like 'Stranger'. I remember the Liverpool UK show from this tour, which just like this show, had such a frantic pace. Robert was really on form and everyone, but everyone, was dancing all teh way through the show, just like Talking Heads gig.... Thankyou Robert for some great times and music. Glen
