Concert Summary

As one of the members of the legendary Canadian group the Band, Rick Danko had attained rock royalty status among critics and rock fans alike by the mid-1970s. saw Rick Danko the following year in December at My Father's Place in Roslyn NY. a great small place for a gig. Paul Butterfield was supposed to share the bill but had a cold(real or not -tough to play harmonica with)Rick was great , Blondie Chaplin on vocals& guitar, we stayed for both shows, when we returned to my house we stayed up till daylight playing his album, bunch of The Band albums, with a fire on, the party rolled on & I remember saying to the few of the gang still awake at daylight , Rick would be proud to be here with us.!

I have heard a couple Rick Danko concerts, but I think he is aweful! I love the song Java Blues because of Nazareth, played it Live on their "SNAZ" album from 1981....now that is a complete ass kicking preformance......check that out!

The band and it's individual members really never got their due. Some of the greatest musicians the world has ever seen. A correction though, he hadn't "attained rock royalty status among critics and rock fans alike by the mid-1960's". By the mid 70's yes, but in the mid 60's they were still basically unknowns to the general public while playing with Dylan. Pity the sound is so bad on this though, sounds like a hi generation cassette copy that has been redubbed many times over.

As my husband once said...."THE BAND'S music is the wind that gets me through." Rick and Billy are together now. RIP dearest.

Brain Wash is defiantly the best song of the set. Long live the music of Rick Danko and the Band

RIP Rick. The shows both with and without The Band were some of the musical highlights of my life. Thank you.
