Great recording of an excellent band. Saw them several times in late 70's thru early 80's. Probably the best melding of rock and classical ever, anchored by Annie's incredible pipes! Thanks Wolfgang for finding this and posting it for download. The first money I spent on the site, well worth it!

quite possibly the most amazing and purest voice of our (old folks) era. they opened for a band at the philadelphia spectrum, and i can't recall who it was, because of them. annie haslam wore a long white dress, and sang like an angel. i've probably seen 1000 shows (back then, the electric factory (the original one, 22nd and arch) collected $3.50 for a show, and all the employees knew me by name). i've not cried at a show, but when she hits the high note in ashes are burning, well let's just say we pulled over that night on the way home. give it a listen.

The greatest vocalist of all time outside of opera. No one close. Only saw them once, in Cleveland; a stunning performance.
