Concert Summary

Guitarist Ritchie Blackmore formed Rainbow after Deep Purple's Mark III version (which included himself, singer David Coverdale and bassist Glenn Hughes) fell apart during 1975. Purple eventually re-grouped, but Blackmore chose to form his own band, Rainbow, with singer Ronnie James Dio. Dio had supported Purple as an opening act with his previous group, Elf. Nearly all of Elf became part of the initial version called Blackmore's Rainbow.

The group saw success right away with their first single, "Man On The Silver…entire summary

David Rosenthal - keyboards - schooled at Berkley in Boston, had Steve Vai as a ROOM MATE, scored 2 of the most complex record albums ever produced for fun while at school. The albums were by a 70s progressive band called Happy The Man. Had a sort stint with Dream Theatre, and later toured and recorded with Billy Joel. FEW know of his membership with Rainbow. In 2002, was called up by Happy The Man member Stan Whitaker to join the band for a reunion - a chance to put his money where his mouth is. you can find out more at www.happytheman.com

I finally got to see Ritchie in Charlotte with Blackmore's Night. I had a chance to see him in Greensboro NC with Rainbow back in 1976, but it was canceled. Needlessly to say I was distraught since I was a huge Rainbow/Blackmore fan. So, BN was really good. I like that type of Ritchie's music just as much. About this concert. I never really cared for JLT. He just get's on my nerves.

It was a good concert. I think that Joe Turner and the other girl singers added a lot.

Song 5 is correct in Tearin Out My Heart. I am surprised to see that this is a King Biscuit recording, as I remember this concert very well, because I first saw and recorded it from MTV, back when MTV was a music tv station. It was on their Saturday Night Live concert series. After 20 years, after losing the dvd, I purchased this on VHS as a Japanese import, entitled Rainbow-Live Between the Eyes. So, if this was a Kong Biscuit recording, I guess everybody and their brother were there recording this show, unless the Biscuit just bought the rights to it. And I would like to know who gives the concert summary of this show and many others. A concert summary should not be biased, as this one is with whoever that wrote it talked about un-necesary parts at the end. Some of us like long drum solos and lengthy jams, YA KNOW?
