There is a tendancy to regard the Gary Duncan/John Cipollina twin lead band of 67-68 as the apex of the QMS story but this recording shows that the Dino Valente lead band could be just as good when at its best, a quite brilliant concert.

The song listed as "Come On Along" is actually the song "Too Far" from their album Shady Grove.

I bought this to support WGV selling it in .flac format & because I like QS. I would have preferred an earlier show with Cippolina. On the side, most of the QSD soundboards I've heard tend to have awful sound, while not perfect this one is quite listenable.

Saw Qucksilver in Houston at the Continental Showcase in July '71? maybe. Hard to remember those days. The air conditioning system quit and it must have been 100deg in the shade. Some guy came in with a trench coat on! Opened it up inside and had a whole plant inside (you know what kind). Man what a gig! Naked people running around throwing water on each other. God it was wonderful!

Excellent - can't believe this band didn't get wider acclaim!

Gary Duncan was great, but when his guitar intertwined with Cipollina's, it was the best and made Quicksilver my favorite band. Gary really shines here though.
