Concert Summary

This recording, made for the King Biscuit Flower Hour, was taken from Queensryche's first national tour, shortly after the band released their debut album on EMI Records. The short set of five songs ("Prophecy," "Nightrider," "Blinded," "The Lady Wore Black," and "Queen Of The Reich,") is a good testament to the early days of the band, as they successfully merged progressive rock with driving metal.

Even though the band had only been together for two years at this point, it is clear to see the excellent musicianship,…entire summary

WOW...this brings back memories. Saw them open for Kiss afer "The Warning" came out. Love the early QR stuff. The EP and "The Warning" are my favs. Simply magical stuff...and so unique at that point. Like no other metal I had heard back then. I am 41 now...and those 2 albums are still my favs!

Most underrated band EVER! Also the most underrated album of all time -- Rage for Order. I would put their body of work up against any band. Truly a great, great band. I miss DeGarmo....

I saw Queensryche on this tour in Pittsburgh at the old Stanley Theater with Twisted Sister as the opener. It was a totally awesome small stage show...one I'll never forget. I have live recordings of Queensryche but none match this one of their early stuff.

As far as age is concerned Geoff Tate was in his prime up until Promised Land, but he still has an incredible range to this day. He can still do all the old stuff, but at 50, you shouldnt be expected to do that every night on a tour. But occasionally he does go for the high stuff live (by high stuff i mean B5 ) I believe it was in Phoenix, on the last tour, where he hit a G5 while singing Walk In The Shadows. R?che and Roll!
