Concert Summary

Among the most important of all the British progressive rock bands to emerge from the late-1960s, Procol Harum underwent several personnel changes from the time they released "Whiter Shade Of Pale" in 1967 to when they stopped making albums ten years later. During that decade, only vocalist/pianist Gary Brooker, lyricist Keith Reid and drummer BJ Wilson remained from the initial lineup.

Originally a studio band that was formed when the aforementioned "Whiter Shade of Pale" single exploded onto the worldwide pop…entire summary

They will NEVER tour with Matthew again, or record with him. THat whole lawsuit over Whiter Shade of Pale destroyed their relationship. BTW, the gutiarist Geof Whitehorne currently with the band has been in longer than any other, and deserves to be counted a s real contributer. He is the guitarist on THE WELL'S ON FIRE, and brilliantly interprets the older works. DAVE PEGG has been the bassist for well over 12 years now, so please don;t dismiss him either, as he is on that labum as well.

In response to SightSeer: Yes, I was at the Palladium concert with the cake! As I recall, Gary said "Well, I didn't expect this; I don't deserve it; and I certainly won't eat it!" Driving my van full of friends into NY from CT, we were listening to Shine on Brightly on yes, 8-track. When "Wishing Well" came on, I said "such a great song, I would love to hear that one live." That night they did it. Procol remains my favorite to this day!

A band that is truly a diamond in the rough.Just amazing and intense their whole catalog...

How I loved this band, the way it was, so many years ago. Saw them at the Palladium in NY and a giant cake was wheeled onstage in celebration of the anniversary of WSOP. Only Gary remains as of today, that beautiful voice, but the rest of the lineup are just playing the notes, living off their former glory. Would love to see a reunion tour with some semblance of the originals or at least the earlier members when they were at their creative heights.

Absolutely a breath taking performance from this magical band. Was there ever any group that had such a wonderful incredible sound? Apart from E.L.P or King Crimson nobody ever came close to this kind of GRAND SOUND.And B.J Wilson was 1 of the finest drummers of any era,R.I.P B.J. Procol Harum needs to do a tour of the U.S with or without Matthew Fisher, preferably with Matt. How about it GARY? We havn't seen you guys here for almost 17 years now.
