About

Poison

Poison seeps into everybody at one point or another, and with hits like "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and "Unskinny Bop" blasting from car speakers, Poison the band made a big impression in the eighties. Formed in 1984, the band's lineup included singer Bret Michaels, bassist Bobby Dall, drummer Rikki Rocket, and flamboyant guitarist C.C. Deville. Deville was fired in the early '90s because of his addictions and problematic behavior, but he returned for the successful reunion tour in '99 that followed Poison's '96 release, Greatest Hits: 1986-1996. Like their contemporaries Warrant and Motley Crue, Poison had an irresistible down home glam appeal that contributed to their popularity in the latter half of the '80s and early '90s.
