Like Laurel Canyon in LA, Marin County was the Bay Area retreat for local musicians tired of the bustling big city. Natives and transplants alike found peace amongst towering redwood trees and scenic panoramas across the Golden Gate, an environment which often influenced the music they were creating.
Bill Graham himself was a longtime resident, and to this day Marin is home to many of the Bay's most popular artists, some of who can be heard here alongside their erstwhile neighbors.
