Hold those lighters up, folks, and keep them lit through those emotional, tension-building verses because the choruses are going to climax hard! Though the Vault doesn't have performances of some of the most beloved power ballads from bands like Whitesnake, Poison, Scorpions, Firehouse, Mr. Big, Guns N' Roses, or Motley Crue, it did give us an excuse to search out bands like Queen, Aerosmith, Nazareth, Heart, and Lynyrd Skynyrd rocking the power ballad formula before the MTV era. Of course, there are also a few examples of '80s hard rock bands who knew how to do it, too.
