Playlist Description
Here's a mix of a wide range of jazz styles recorded how they should be heard - in a live setting. With examples of traditional New Orleans jazz, bebop, cool jazz, Latin jazz, and all sorts of fusions (although this playlist is comparatively light on jazz-rock fusion, a subject to be tackled in more depth on a future playlist), this collection of tracks shows the breadth of the variety contained in the Concert Vault as of now. But be sure to stay tuned as we prepare the Newport Archive, which contains a great number of historically significant jazz performances starting as early as 1955.
