Playlist Description

It's St. Patrick's Day and that means only one thing for marginally- or non-Irish people like me. The holiday may just be an excuse to drink for many of us, but if that's the case you probably don't really need another excuse anyway. That's why this mix is good for the whole year and, besides the inclusion of Rory Gallagher, has nothing to do with Ireland. There are songs here for you no matter what your preferred drink is -- beer, whiskey, gin, or wine. Some speak to the benefit of alcohol (enablers) and others warn of its dangers (party-poopers). I've even included two songs at the end that are quite handy for drinking games. The rules to "Roxanne" are that half the people in the room have a drink when The Police sing 'Roxanne' and the other half drinks when they say 'red light.' You can play a similar game with 'We're Not Gonna Take It,' where everyone drinks when the band or audience says 'we're not gonna take it.'

No matter what your poison or your excuse for drinking, cheers!
