Concert Summary

Following his 1975 departure from Genesis and after a period of rest and creative rejuvenation, Peter Gabriel returned with his compelling first solo album in 1977. In the two-year interim, Gabriel had matured as both an artist and a songwriter. His new music was scaled down considerably and gone were the rhetorical and prog-rock musical flourishes that characterized Genesis. Over the course of the next decade, Gabriel would become increasingly adventurous and introspective, creating music on his own terms. He began working with some of the most talented and esoteric musicians of the era,…entire summary

Unfortunately on "Games without frontiers" Sting did not sing together with him, when he did that the day before in Mendoza and firstly in Los Angeles on 21st September. Anyway, there was no more a tour like that!!

I'm pretty sure that's a violin I hear on "Biko" and "In Your Eyes." Does anybody know who is performing that?

This is a tremendous concert which brings me back to senior year of high school. Amazing version of "Don't Give Up' (featuring Tracy Chapman) and one of the hippest versions of "In Your Eyes" which features some cool instruments that would later be featured on PG's Masterpiece - "The Passion". Sure, his former bandmate Phil Collins grabbed all of that 80's glory with his bubblegum poprock, but this guy's music stands the ultimate test - the test of time. Enjoy!
