Members David Byrne, Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth met while studying at the Rhode Island School of Design. Keyboardist Jerry Harrison joined in '76, and from that point on, the Talking Heads embarked upon a creative journey that took their new wave sound from underground to household name in the '80s. Their music launched an experimental craze as they lent wry, melodic tones to African percussions and electronic rock.
